Artspace is located near the Sydney coastline in the vicinity of the city’s well-known cultural and tourist attractions, such as the Sydney Opera House and the Kings Cross area.

The grants were available for visual artists for three months residency between 2018 and 2020.

Established in 1983, Artspace is one of the oldest residency organisations and held in high esteem in Australia’s dynamic and internationally networked field of contemporary art. Among other things, Artspace organises and provides exhibitions, performances, artist residencies and various programmes for the public. Artspace is in partnership with UNSW Art & Design to provide the resident studio artists with access to their state of the art Paddington campus facilities.

In the residency, the artist will have available a studio consisting of a spacious open area for living and working, a loft with a twin bed, kitchenette and a bathroom. An artists duo will have one studio at their disposal. Family members can also be accommodated in the studio.

Partnerships must apply for the grant as a working group. Both members of the partnership are provided with separate working grants.
