Grant Application Schedule
The grant is open for application in the October application round. Applications close at 4 pm Finnish time (EET) on the last day of the application period.
The grant is intended for working groups consisting of more than one researcher. A registered legal entity, such as a university, a research institute or a corporation, may not apply. All scientific work in the project will be remunerated as working grants, not as salaries.
The theme of the Additional Million-euro funding to Science is Finland’s competitiveness in industry, business or creative field in the October 2023 round of applications. The applications can deal with the theme from different perspectives - both promoting and critically examining it. The grant can be applied for work, project-related expenses, or both together.
The Additional Million-euro Grant will be awarded to no more than five research projects.
How to Apply
The application is submitted to the Online Application Service during the October application period. This special purpose grant can be selected in the Grant Type menu on the Application page of the application form.
The required attachments for the application are listed in the Application Guidelines for Grants. The research plan to be attached to the application must be submitted either in Finnish or English, but the summary included in the application form must be written in Finnish.
The management of the grants awarded by the Cultural Foundation to working groups involves procedures which applicants should already familiarize themselves with at the grant application stage. Guidelines for the person in charge of a working group can be read here.
