For the grant applicant

We provide funding for scientific and artistic work, various projects and purchases and funding to promote the mobility of artists. Finnish citizens, as well as private individuals and organisations residing or operating in Finland are eligible to apply for a grant. You may also apply if your application has a clear, strong connection to Finland or Finnish culture. We will confirm and update the available grants and guidelines before the application period begins. We will publish the available grants in June and make any further updates to the guidelines by September at the latest.

When you submit your application, it will be forwarded to an expert in either the national or a regional fund for peer review, based on the information provided in the application. All applications are processed in strict confidence, and rigid guidelines are applied to the application evaluation process to ensure utmost impartiality. We will notify applicants of the results in early February and publish them at the end of February. Some grants, such as Mobility and Residency Grants and Musical Instrument Loans, follow their own schedules.
