The residency program of the Finnish Cultural Foundation offers high-quality residencies for Finnish and Finland-based artists around the world through selected partner organizations.
The residency call for 2027 closes at 4pm Finnish time (EET) on 31st of August 2026.
You can apply for a mobility grant for self-organised residencies or other international work
You may apply either for one of the Cultural Foundation’s residencies or for a mobility grant in one application round, not for both. The application system restricts submitting an application for both grants.
Residency grant recipients are awarded a working grant and a travel grant. In addition, you may apply funding to cover costs incurred from residency work.
If the grantee receives a smaller third-party working grant during residency period, they will be awarded the difference between the two grants.
The grantees themselves are responsible for any visas, residence permits, or insurance possibly required for the period abroad. It is possible to bring a spouse or family with you to those destinations where this is specifically mentioned in the description. Family members’ travel expenses must be covered by the artists themselves.
