What is the Päijät-Häme Regional Fund?

The Päijät-Häme Regional Fund is devoted to promoting and developing the arts, the sciences, and other fields of endeavour in the region – by providing annual grants and awards to local people active in these areas and scientific and artistic work carried out in or covering the region.

The Fund’s activities and decision-making are impartial and not linked to political parties or other organisations or associations. The Administrative Council represents a wide range of expertise and knowledge in the arts, the sciences, society, and business in the region.

The Päijät-Häme Regional Fund comprises a General Fund and donation- and bequest-based donor funds. Grants made from the latter are directed towards areas specified by the donor when making his or her bequest. Areas not covered by this procedure are supported from the general funds.

Grants

Finnish citizens, as well as private individuals and organisations residing or operating in Finland are eligible to apply for a grant yearly in the Finnish Cultural Foundation’s application period. You may also apply if your application has a clear, strong connection to Finland or Finnish culture.

What kinds of grants do we award and to whom?

It is possible to apply for grants in all fields of science and art. The purpose of the grants is to preserve and develop the tangible and intangible culture of the Päijät-Häme Region.

Please ensure that your work is specifically located in the region of the Päijät-Häme Regional Fund and not, for example, the region of Häme. You can find a list of municipalities belonging to Päijät-Häme Regional fund below.

Grants are awarded from the general fund and from the following named funds, among others:

Lahti War Veterans Association, Kauko and Elvi Taalikka Fund, which supports the preservation of veteran heritage and traditional work in Lahti, as well as other patriotic projects related to Lahti.
Häme Kauppakamari Fund, which promotes common goals and business life in various sectors in the Lahti Chamber of Commerce area.
Seppo Anttonen’s named grants are awarded for “purposes that promote marketing and product development.”
