Third Life – Seppo Fränti Collection at the Kirpilä Art Collection

The Kirpilä Art Collection is set to bring together two notable collections, as Seppo Fränti’s is presented alongside that of Juhani Kirpilä from 31 August to 7 December 2025.

Third Life explores art collecting as a way of life and opens up the meanings and motives behind the practice. The exhibition features works from the collection Fränti donated to the Museum of Contemporary Art Kiasma in 2017, as well as works acquired since.

Artists featured in the exhibition:

Petri Ala-Maunus, Erik Creutziger, Jussi Goman, Petri Hytönen, Mimosa Isomäki, Anne Koskinen, Ville Kylätasku, Joni Kärkkäinen, Kalle Leino, Iisa Maaranen, Olli Marttila, Hugo Murtoniemi, Teemu Mäenpää, Paavo Paunu, Erno Pennanen, Jussi Pyky, Janne Räisänen, Jarkko Räsänen, Kim Somervuori, Jenny Suhonen, Eeva Tiisala, Minnamari Toukola, Ukko Viholainen, Henry Wuorila-Stenberg, and Riitta Åkerstedt.

During the exhibition, the Kirpilä Art Collection will organise visits to other collections and, in collaboration with Kunsthalle Helsinki, host discussions and themed tours related to collecting. The full programme will be published in August on our website, and social media channels.
